Grace Vydac now offers innovative 300 Å wide-pore reversed-phase columns in four different capillary diameters -- 75 µm, 150 µm, 300 µm, and 500 µm ID -- for LC/MS applications without post-column stream splitting. The special Low-TFA reversed-phase packings in these columns allow protein and peptide separations to be performed with reduced concentrations of modifiers such as TFA, and in many cases with no modifier or with formic acid or acetic acid only, providing greater flexibility in operating conditions for maximum sensitiviy in ESI LC/MS.
Every VYDAC capillary column is supplied with two test chromatograms. A small-molecule test performed on each individual column verifies column performance while avoiding contamination by biopolymer contaminants. A test chromatogram with peptides (C18) or a protein/peptide mixture (C4) verifies performance of each lot of adsorbent without compromising individual columns.
